Travel Information

Booking Flights

Most airlines allow passengers to check-in 24 hours before departure. Doing this provides peace of mind in case of delays in transport on your way to the airport. Before departing for the airport kindly ensure the following are in place, a valid passport (with at least 9 months validity from date of return) at least three empty pages on the right hand side of the passport for entry/exit stamps of countries being visited, relevant visa and inoculations for the destination country, plus a small amount in cash in the local currency for any incidentals. It is also important to arrive at the airport 2 to 3 hours prior to departure time (for international flights) or 1 hour prior to departure (for domestic flights) to allow for enough time for check-in and passport clearance.

Health

We, will always advise about the necessary immunizations for diseases such as Cholera, Hepatitis and Tetanus, Yellow Fever etc when travelling abroad. If you are on any medication while travelling always ensure that you confirm whether your medication is legal in the countries you intend to visit and that you carry enough to last the length of your trip. If your medication requires a prescription, remember to keep it in it’s original box and to carry a copy of your prescription with you at all times.

Suitcases

Car Hire

Kindly ensure you have in your possession the necessary requirements such as an international drivers license. You can easily apply for an international licence at any AA branch near you or online at www.aa.co.za

Foreign Exchange

When traveling abroad it is best to be informed about the local currency you will be using and to enquire about the average prices of things like food, drinks and public transportation. You will need to purchase sufficient foreign exchange before departing for your trip. We are able to organise your forex to be delivered at your doorstep. For extra security it is advisable to carry travelers cheques and a travel card in case of theft or loss while abroad.

Travel Insurance

It is important to insure your belongings before traveling abroad. Any items you wish to carry with you such as laptops, cell phones or any other electronic devices and valuables should all be insured before hand and declared at customs when departing on your trip. These items should be insured with your householders insurance broker as travel insurance cover is not sufficient to cover these items. We offer travel insurance for any unexpected incident while overseas, e.g. legal, death, medical, repatriation, screened blood for transfusions and air ambulance should evacuation be required.

Passport

Visas
